Hedonists: A briefing

Your Experience

Right now, in Coreborn, your first, available race is the Hedonists from Ambros. Maybe you’ve wondered about the Hedonists and what they’re like. Maybe you’ve been curious about their lifestyle. We can help!

Here’s a look into the race you’re currently controlling—at least, until Liquid Meadows and the Children of the Source arrive.

Hedonists

A nation of people who put lust and pleasure at the center of their being. The Hedonists live their days in pure bliss, and should problems arise, they indeed can be solved by throwing money at them. Even the low-ranking workers among them are rich enough to indulge in all luxuries besides field work that the inhabitants of the other realms could only dream of.

Certainly, such luxury attracts envy, which is not really welcome in Ambros. To ward these people off, the top Hedonists chose the noblest and within their own ranks to be Praetorians. Elite warriors who dedicate their lives to fighting with the two-handed sword and raise their immaculate weapons forged in the Ash Mountains against anyone threatening the higher-ranking hedonists’ escalating lifestyle. Additionally, since the Ultracore pact, they have been responsible for its protection and the order in Coreheim.

When the Devourer of Worlds, Sorgoth, robbed uncounted people of Tormentosia of their homes, the troops of the Praetorians were increased at the request of Queen Julia of Ambros, and ordinary people were also allowed to join their ranks.

The hedonists live in a clearly hierarchical society that attaches tremendous importance to nobility, ancestry, and general descent. Other nations are treated rather derogatory. The Ultracore pact is more of a necessary evil than something they value.

Within the Hedonists, strict hierarchies are established, which by no means are anchored in rigid structures, but in social norms, which some might understand as constraints. Archaic families have always provided the rulers of Ambros and collected taxes from all other residents. These live in individual social classes, which are divided into the following hierarchies:

In-Game Fun

If you’ve been adventurous, you may have run into this person going on-and-on about Definitely NOT Being a Lizard, but they also mention the neck plate that adorns the neck of a Hedonist. It’s regal, and further stands as proof of how much you stand out from the rest of the races. The more you know!

We hope this gives you a better idea of the group your playing as currently in Coreborn. Keep in mind, this is just one of the races that make up Tormentosia. Stay tuned next time for a break down of the land you inhabit: Ambros.
